Bios

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is one of the world's finest sitar players and descends from six generations of musicians. He is a leading exponent of the Etawah Gharana, a musical tradition or "family" committed to the sitar. He was first introduced to vocal and tabla by his father Ustad Aziz Khan, before he was initiated into the art of playing sitar. He maintains a rigorous worldwide tour schedule leaving audiences in awe. Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is also a prolific recording artist, releasing multiple albums every year showcasing his extraordinary versatility and virtuosity. In the words of The Hindu, he is "Indian music personified"

 

 

Shri Mukesh Jadhav is a gifted tabla player and a disciple of Pandit Shantaram Chigri of the Benares gharana. His exceptional clarity of stroke and instinctive and insightful solos make him a complete performer and a highly desired accompanist.
